Lip Fillers

Lip augmentation is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that can give fuller, more plump lips. A dermal filler of Hyaluronic Acid is injected into the lips to achieve this. The procedure takes around 15 mins, a numbing cream will be applied to the lips first or alternatively customers may choose to have a local anaesthetic. Some bruising or swelling may occur but differs from person to person as everyone’s body reacts differently. It is a non-invasive procedure and most people return to their daily activities almost immediately.

During the first 24/48hrs after your lip fillers treatment you my experience redness, swelling, bruising and/or tenderness in the treated areas. Redness and swelling usually resolves within the first 24hrs although some patients with sensitive skin may take longer. Bruising may take several days to fade (full recovery takes about 2 weeks).
If bruising occurs, you can use Arnica Cream which you can buy from any pharmacy.
If you feel and small lumps or balls of filler you can massage these using clean hands but not too forcibly, it is completely normal to feel small deposits of filler.
Do not drink alcohol for 24hrs as this increases circulation and may prolong bruising or swelling.
Do not have facials, facial waxing, chemical peels or laser treatments for 10-14 days after injection.
Do not expose your enhancement to direct sun, tanning treatments, jacuzzis, saunas, salt water, chlorinated water and direct shower spray.
Do not put any ice on your lips.
Avoid smoking within 6 hours following treatment.
Avoid taking blood thinning medicines such as aspirin / disprin / paracetamol etc.
Avoid touching the treated area within 24hrs following the treatment.
No kissing for 3 days to prevent infection.
Apply Vaseline for the first 2-3 days after the treatment, using a cotton bud. Wash your hands before applying the Vaseline.
Drink plenty of water (2+ltr a day).
